     @JoesGarageProductionsLLC I am an EE as well. You asked why transformers can handle "bad" sin wave power, Here is one way to think about it: normal electronic components don't see "sine" or "square". They see voltage (like pressure), current (like volume), and frequencies. Even a pure square wave is NOT just 0 volts / 110 volts like we see. It is (really) a set of pure sin waves at a bunch of (harmonic) frequencies, that add up to the square! Search UA-cam for this to see it: Fourier Series square wave animation * Filter out the high frequencies of those "bad" stepped-sin UPS... you get clean pure sin wave power. * As others note, it's non-electronic power to be wary around.

    I'm going to make two observations from my own experience with using portable air conditioners. #1 portable air conditioners, for all their inefficiencies, are far superior to window units when the outside air temperature starts dropping to the 60s and lower. I currently live in an attic without central air, and when late fall rolls around I still need to run my air conditioner to be comfortable. If I were using a window unit it would be iced over on a regular basis. #2 I will freely admit that if you are testing out of the box experiences between different types of air conditioners this should not be a factor, but at the same time in any other situation it seems grossly negligent to not consider this aspect when testing portable units. Use an insulated hose. I'm not saying it fixes everything because it sure as heck doesn't, but there is something like a 20° surface temperature difference between the dinky plastic hose that comes with most portable units and a solid insulated hose. I would further suggest that, at least to a point, getting and insulated hose is a good idea because you can move the air conditioner farther away from the window, to a point, then you would get with the supplied hose. Depending on your scenario this can be a useful arrangement. In my situation they window I have my unit hooked up to is quite a ways from where I actually need the cold air so being able to run a longer hose and give the unit closer to the center of the attic is very useful. A window air conditioner might be significantly more efficient, but if all it ends up doing is cooling 10% of the area I needed to because there's a significant amount of dead space in between the unit and the center of the attic then it's not going to fare as well as a portable unit that can get it closer, even in spite of an insulated hose still leaking some waste heat.

    Dont remove the réservoir.. they have bleed bolts on the under inside top of the hydro... pause at 10:00 to see this bolt. Just above the belt. Once oil starts dripping out of there youre full. Way easier than taking off the reserviors.

    This video was very helpful to me today. I have a Generac standby generator, which is designed and marketed to power my house during a utility outage. It has an alternator similar to the ones in the generators shown here. It should create 60 Hz power, but my multimeter showed the Hz bouncing wildly all over the place. The problem was that these generators create shaggy power and the multimeter couldn't understand it. So the generator was just doing what it was built to do, but the test results looked strange and had me concerned for a while. The professional techs who work on these generators use better meters than the one I have. Thanks for making this video and leaving it for me to find. It was an important piece of the puzzle.

    I tell you I've picked up alot of washers and dryers that people threw out and have sold many of them. People who have the $ will just want to buy a new one,and many will last many more years. The older models will last forever,,the front load washers usually dont last because you have gravity working against the drum bearings,where verticle (Top load) the weight is centered. Usually top load is the way to go but I wouldn't by a Maytag. Front load are expensive,and they will last a while but you will be better off with the top load. Whirlpool makes the best washers,maytage makes good dryers,I have never had a bad one,i had a 12 year models and they ran perfectly.

    There are plenty of videos explaining how to remove the grill, it is a bit methodical (time consuming) but is really easy. Once you have completed that, the headlight assembly is loose, and therefore access to the globe is straight forward, rotate the black clips and the globe will pop out. The whole process will take about 2 hours the first time you do it, but once you know the process, you should only take an hour. Much easier than scratching hands, and running the risk of not seating the globe correctly.

  • @BrianMcdonald-tp9fb
    @BrianMcdonald-tp9fb 7 днів тому

    The easiest way to replace the headlights is to remove the front grill. It is a very straight forward process, albeit time consuming. Prior to doing it you need to have a pry tool to lever off the trims on the wheel arches, but only do the first two clips and undo the 10mm bolt holding the 'roof' of the wheel arch in place, then pull back that roof and disconnect the fog lamps, don't worry about the bumper sensors as they are connected by a large cable so don't have to be removed. There are 5 or 6 large clips under the bottom of the grill, you need to get under the front of the car to get to them, remove them. There are two clips on the top of the dash that need to be pried off. Once that is done start prying off the grill at the point where it meets the wheel arch, be relatively forceful as the grill at this place is only held to the rest of the body by push in clips. Do this on both sides so that the edges of the grill are clear of the body. Then prise the top of the grill upwards and it should fall off in your hands. Once this is done you need to remove the honeycomb looking black plastic from below the headlight, there are 4 bolts, plus remove the plastic cover on the top which covers the light and remove the bolt holding the light assembly, the light assembly will then be free. Open the cap to the light and you will see the two black clips on either side of the globe assembly, twist them (i needed a pair of plyers) and the globe will come out, then replace the globes in reverse of above When replacing the grill do everything in reverse to the taking off process, however it is easiest if you make sure the grill fits in under the light assembly first, this centres the grill correctly, then push down on the plastic on the top of the grill and the grill will stay in place. You do need to push the corners of the grill in with force, however because it is plastic it should fit back snuggly

    The capacitance is not related to the speed of the motor, but rather the phase shift occurring in one of the motor’s sets of windings. Any increase/decrease in speed will be the result of the two windings inducing excessive slip and over time, this will cause the motor to overheat.
